BENIFICIARY STORY

From Darkness to Dawn RANGAN found his light

My name is Rangon, and I am a student in class seven living in Dhaka. For a long time, I had to stay away from my school and my friends because I was fighting a disease called Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. While other children were carrying their school bags and playing in the field, I was spending my days in the hospital. It was a very difficult time, and I really missed my books and my classroom.
Now, my dream of going back to school is finally coming true! I am so happy and excited to start my education again. Because of the Obolombon education scholarship, I don’t have to worry about my studies anymore. Even though I had a pause in my lessons, I am ready to work hard and catch up with everything. Carrying my school bag again feels like winning a big trophy, and I cannot wait to learn new things every day.
When I grow up, I want to be a famous cancer doctor, just like my favorite doctor, Prof. Zohora Jamila Khan. She is a wonderful pediatric cancer specialist who helped me get better, and I want to be just like her so I can help other children beat cancer too. I want to show everyone that cancer cannot stop us from dreaming big. I am so thankful to everyone who is helping me reach my goal of becoming a physician one day.
