For women between the ages of 40 and 44:

Screening Procedure: Mammogram (Specially designed X-ray of the breast) annually if they wish to do so.

For women between the ages of 45 and 54:

Screening Procedure: Mammogram (Specially designed  X-ray of the breast) every year.

For women of  55 years and older:

Screening Procedure: Mammogram (Specially designed  X-ray of the breast) every 2 years or annually if they wish to do so.

  • For women with a family history and genetic tendency, they should take both a mammogram and an MRI and should talk to their health care specialist about the risks of breast cancer and the best known course of action for them .
  • Women should also conduct breast self examination manually at home. Any change in breast should be immediately informed to their Health care supervisor.
  • Women should be counseled on the advantages, and any possible risks associated with breast cancer screening.
