Considering cancer screening is one of the major components of cancer control, we have a taken few steps in this field. We conduct regular cancer screening and education camp all over the country. Beside this outdoor program we have piloted a community-based cancer screening center in Dhaka. Now we are at the first phase of a comprehensive cancer screening center, which has been established for aiming the earliest diagnosis of most preventable cancers in Bangladesh, like; breast, cervix and oral cavity cancer.

Suchona

We have been piloted our community-based cancer screening and healthcare project named “Suchona” at Rayerbazar, Dhaka from January 2021 to December 2021. “Suchona” offered cancer education, cancer screening for breast and cervix cancer as per government guideline and primary health care services on OPD basis. During this time frame we served 175 patients in our OPD and 673 people reached by our community health worker with the message of cancer screening and education. We did clinical breast examination to 37 cases and didn’t get any positive cases of breast cancer. We referred 66 cases to Marie stopes center, Bashbari branch for VIA and only 17 cases reported us back and all of them were negative.
